About Project
Terazzo was engaged to complete the formwork, reo, and concrete package for the Woolworths site in Holmview. This civil concrete construction project consisted of a road pavement on a grade. The job included building a footing along one side of the pavement for a barrier wall.
What were the challenges?
Access was only available from one end of the job, due to the steep drop off adjacent to the pavement. As such, programming was critical because we couldn’t continue to prepare slabs before we had poured the one prior, otherwise the concrete pump wouldn’t reach. We also had the challenge of tying the footing reo on a steep grade.
How did Terazzo solve these challenges?
We had to ensure we scheduled the work accurately. We had to pour slabs as soon as they were ready and inspected, in order to ensure continuity and efficiency of work. Working closely with suppliers was therefore paramount.
